The Naini lake

Nainital city is one of the most visited hill stations in India, located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Nainital means “the lake of the eye”. Nain means eyes and tal means lake. According to mythology, when Lord Shiva had taken the body of Maa Sati to the Himalayas, her eyes had fallen in this place and named as Nainital.

How to reach:♢ It is 34 km away from Kathgodham Railway station. Local buses are available here.♢ It is around 278 km from Delhi and takes around 7 hours to reach the destination.
